Part 1 will cover the different Hang Tag Parking Permit materials available for your needs. Part 2 will cover the materials available for Decal Parking Permits.
A hang tag parking permit is designed to be displayed from a rearview mirror. They can easily be removed & transferred from one vehicle to another.
Polyvinyl (Most Popular)
Polyvinyl is a semi-ridge plastic that will resist curling and tearing from the heat & handling. It is available in different thicknesses & can be laminated with reflective materials, so it is more visible at night. For parking tags, the material is usually 23mil or 35mil thick, as anything thinner will curl & crack.
This vinyl will reflect a light beam from a flashlight to make it highly visible at night.
Watermarked Reflective Vinyl a.k.a. Rydin Reflex (Extra Security)
Rydin Reflex includes an exclusive watermark that is integrated into the surface to give it anti-counterfeit properties. It is also destructible and difficult to remove in one piece.
65 Pound Paper
Similar to heavier “construction paper,” this paper is used for temporary rearview mirror tags. It come in a wide variety of colors and can easily be written on with pen, pencils or rubber stamps.
9pt. Card Stock
This is a white medium weight paper with a smooth luster finish. It works well for scratch-off hang tags, as well as, temporary tags that have foil or hologram material in their design.
